Fitness Videos
There are a number of fitness videos in the market. Generally they come with a program that includes a work out schedule and a diet plan. The purpose of these videos is to help you exercise and shed extra pounds. The videos show fitness instructors who guide you through the exercises. Here is a review of a few popular fitness videos.
08 min. Abs
This one is for beginners, intermediates and also advanced participants. This 8 minute video shows you how to do nine conventional ab exercises - four variations of upper crunches, two types of reverse crunches and three versions of oblique twists. Two countdown clocks keep track of your progress. One clock counts down the total workout time, the other counts down each 45-second set. However, there is no warm-up or stretch afterwards. You are on your own for both.
Ab Attack - Trish Muse
This video is available for 30, 26 and 8 minutes and is for both ab and back toning. The long and challenging workout sessions attack much more than the abs. After some vigorous ab crunching, you switch your focus to core stabilization and back exercises. The 30-minute ab segment focuses mostly on lower and oblique abs. Many variations of pelvic tilts and reverse crunches are intermixed with oblique twists and side benders. A few sets of upper crunches are included at the end.
Kathy Ireland's ABSolutely Fit
Kathy offers five different advanced ab workouts on this video. Many exercises are for advanced levels and need strong abs to start with. So if you are just starting out, be careful. Do not strain your lower back. Each day's ab workout contains 4 to 7 different exercises, starting with upper crunches, moving on to oblique and ending with standing, kneeling or lying exercises that require you to "drive your knees into your chest".
Quick Fix Toning Series - Tight Abs Workout
From standard crunches to innovative variations influenced by Pilates and Yoga, Julie Upton fatigues the abs thoroughly and differently in three 10- minute workouts. In each ten minute workout, the abs is worked from all angles, at varying intensities. A short torso warm-up starts each Quick Fix and a relaxing stretch is done midway and again at the end.
