Over 40 Bodybuilding
Is it always good to start at a young age? While there are definite advantages if you are beginning bodybuilding when you are still young, but for those who are on the wrong side of 40 - there is still hope. Not everything is bad. Yes, those who are over 40 years of age can also go for bodybuilding. The biggest challenge here can be keeping the motivation going. So if you are over 40 years of age and are a bodybuilding enthusiast, it is better that you get a partner - so that both of you can get each other going. Joining a community is also a very good idea.
There is a great video that you can watch as well. "Ripped - The Video" of Clarence Bass has been extremely popular for years. The best thing about Clarence is that though he has a great body with amazing muscles, in a business suit, he would look perfectly normal - like you and me.
The video highlights Clarence's successes in his over 40 bodybuilding career, where he won titles such as "Best Legs" and "Best Abs".
The video follows him into his kitchen, where he demonstrates how to prepare a special breakfast. He believes in whole foods, which will fill you up without filling you out. From the kitchen the camera follows Clarence into his office. Here he reviews his training diary before each and every workout session. He makes specific plans of what he plans to accomplish in the forthcoming workout based on his previous performances.
Then Clarence describes his workouts, demonstrating the warm ups (both aerobics and with weights), which he does prior to every workout. After the warm-up, Bass demonstrates various Olympic-style Pulls. He explains the difference between a Snatch-grip and a Clean-grip. From here, he goes into the Barbell Squat demonstration where he uses simple Squat Stands instead of the popular Squat Rack or Power Rack.
Clarence describes the post workout meal back in the kitchen. He clarifies why the body's needs differ from 'after a workout' to other times during the day. He advises that if you are over 40 and want to become a bodybuilder, you should never leave the table hungry.
